It coincides with the push within Australian fandom to host the World Science Fiction Convention in Australia in 1975, (Aussiecon), and the rise of fanzine fandom centred on Melbourne, Australia; e.g. ''Australian SF Review'', ''SF Commentary'', ''ANZAPA''.
